Sunday May 30th is the date for decoration of the graves of all those who are deceased and served their country. Please join us as we give these veterans their just due. The Commander will lead the contingent from the Post rooms at 8:30am, stopping for the laying of the wreath at the monument in front of North Albany Academy at 8:45am and then mustering at St. Agnes Cemetery at 9:00am. After a brief ceremony at the entrance to the cemetery all will go to their assigned areas and place the flags on the graves of our veterans

Presentation to Wounded Warrior Project by the North Albany Post 1610 Sons Squadron on 24 Jan 2010

 Congratulations to our Sons Squadron

 

Colonie-Desmond Hotel- Sons of the American Legion Squadron, 1610, North Albany American Legion Post and Past Commander Ralph Deso (4th from left holding check) present a check for $17,501 to Wounded Warrior Project Ambassador Paul Hastings (second from right) at the American Legion Mid Winter Conference.  The group raised this amount in 14 months and brought their total of funds raised on behalf of the Wounded Warrior Project to over $40,000.00 in four years.

 

North Albany American Legion Post Past Commander Ralph Deso donated the use of his bowling alley for an entire Sunday to raise funds for the Wounded Warrior Project last November and raised almost $6,000.00 himself.  He is sponsoring a Wounded Warrior Project Bowl-A-Thon at Redwood Lanes on Sunday, April 11, 2010 from noon until 5:00PM.  Additional details may be obtained from Mr. Deso at 518-395-2001.  Wounded Warriors will be here that weekend looking for lodging and fishing guides for their therapeutic fishing/bowling weekend in the Capital District.

History of North Albany Post 1610 1946-1991

Albany County Executive Mike Breslin and Tim Ryan watch as the US flag is presented to Joe Ryan  from Congressman Paul Tonka  at our Post on January 4th 2010   in honor of Past Commander Kevin " Red" Ryan during the Albany County Honor-A-Vet cerermony. The Flag was flown over the US Capital and the Albany County Offices and will now be flown over our Post on our flag pole to honor Past Commander Kevin "Red" Ryan.
